The Hide sleeps up to 20 guests in 10 comfortable and spacious deluxe en-suite tents. The tents have various configurations with indoor and/or outdoor bathtubs and showers. Location – perfectly situated on a private concession within Hwange National Park – Zimbabwe’s premier National Park and home to abundant wildlife, flora and fauna.
Facilities
- The hub of the camp is a majestic “A” frame which houses the dining room and sun lounge downstairs, private dining area and viewing area upstairs. Private dining or group dining is available on request.
- The swimming pool is uncovered with no fences – adults are responsible for their own children. The pools are not supervised!
- Early morning tea/coffee is delivered to your tent. Breakfast is served al fresco.
- Landline available at reception or a satellite phone is available for emergencies.
- Internet access in reception area using own Wi-Fi device.
- Daily laundry service (weather permitting). Hair Dryers available on request.
- Check-in is 12h00 and check-out is 10h00.
- Powered by mains electricity (220 volts). UK square plugs are used; please bring adapters.
- Some rooms are accessible for guests with disabilities.
- No children under 10 years unless in a group taking over the whole lodge or by prior arrangement.
Activities
Up to 4 activities/excursions are offered per day: morning and afternoon guided walks (no under 16 years on walking safaris), morning and afternoon game drives; night drives with a spotlight, ‘hide sits’ around the pan. An overnight sleep-out in the “Dove’s Nest” tree house for 2 people.
Access
By Road
Guests fly into Victoria Falls Airport and then take the 3-hour road transfer to Hwange Main Camp where they are met by a Hide representative. The Hide is a little over an hour’s drive from Hwange Main Camp through the National Park.
This transfer is conducted in an open safari vehicle and offers game viewing opportunities.
Self-Drive – Guests can opt to self-drive into Camp in their own 4WD vehicles. Directions are available on request.
By Air
Preferred access. 35min light aircraft flights between Victoria Falls Airport and Umtshibi Airfield or Hwange National Park. Seat rates are available.
The Hide is just 40mins from Umtshibi Airfield or 1hr 30mins’ drive from Hwange Main Airport through the National Park. This transfer is conducted in an open safari vehicle and offers game viewing opportunities.
